From seemingly nowhere Dawud “The Amazing BlaKseed” has emerged on the sceen like the Scarab Dung Beetle. Guided by the unseen realm he is crafting his first musical project, Maat Magik.
Dawud spent his formative years in Far Rockaway, Queens until, at the age of 11, he briefly moved to Georgia. Eventually, with stops in Jersey and Harlem, life led him back to his roots in Queens until he enlisted in the Army in 1999.
Six years later he walked away from the Army. After he got a sign from the unseen realm he decided not to reenlist and was subsequently honorably discharged, He then developed a career in Health & Fitness. Although Hip Hop was never his "dream", he developed a natural love for the genre while staying up late on school nights listening to the 90's underground hiphop scene. He was influenced by iconic people such as Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Tupac, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Nas, The Wu Tang Clan, Sade, Dead Prez, Lauryn Hill, Naughty by Nature, and the list goes on.
After suffering the loss of a loved one in 2009 as well as being frustrated by the struggle of his people and society in general, he began to write again in 2010 as a means of stress relief. He focused on socially relevant topics such as Freedom, Happiness, Health, Excitement, Love and Enlightenment. Despite being told that he shares too much info and that he should dumb his music down he has continued to avoid the low vibrational sound.
Overtime as the lotus does out of the muddy waters he has blossomed into a Extraordinary Emcee and on time with the seasons his album Maat Magik will eventually bloom.
